Drawing from the circular structure of the Bakongo Cosmogram, a spiritual diagram from Kongo cosmology representing the cyclical relationship between life, death, the ancestral realm, and rebirth, the quilt uses repeated and mirrored forms to create a kaleidoscope-like movement across its surface. Layered patterns translate rhythm and motion into visual form, reflecting ideas of continuity, trance, and spiritual connection.
